Here comes the new Netvibes

Easily locate something in your archives, share your page with friends, or edit your selection of media and blogs for all users: the new Netvibes seems to do everything better than the old one, according to Tariq Krim.

The creator of Netvibes explained the changes in the new version of the website, which was announced many months ago and will be available for Netvibes’ 30 million users in January 2008.

Vringo, videos on your mobile phone

portable “Personalization 2.0.” That’s how Jonathan Medved, CEO of Vringo, an Israeli compagny, describes the personalization of a mobile phone. According to him, a mobile phone is “an extension of your personality.” It is all about “expressing who you are.” Ringtones are one way of expressing your difference. But Vringo goes further with applications like videos, animations, photos and also avatars that can be added on a mobile phone. “The content will be projected in networks that will be shared with friends,” he explained.

This was the subject of the opening session of LeWeb3. It was a good choice of topic, as the question has been in the news since Facebook tried to add social advertising to its services.

So a debate took place between Chris Alden from Six Apart, Dan Rose (the International Facebook vice-president), lawyer Michel Jaccard and Jaewoong Lee from Daum communication.
