There’s another Web out there

No sooner LeWeb3 is over that critics point out that each edition of Loïc Le Meur’s conference persists to avoid the “other Web” such as open sources softwares, webartists, hackers and gamers. Well that’s true in a way, if one consider the appearance of Mozilla Europe social entrepreneur* Tristan Nitot or VoW “shogun” Joi Ito as exceptions. That lays also in the fact that LeWeb3 has no pretention of covering the entire Web landscape, but only its business side. Read more

The sexy side of LeWeb3

book gosboWe girls expected to meet nerds, and only nerds, at LeWeb3. By nerds, we mean very skinny boys with bags under eyes and no life. No glamour, no sex appeal. Surprise, there are some counter-examples.

Here a (definitely subjective) selection of boys we would be glad to share a restaurant with. Or more if possible.

Introducing the unexpected Ewan Spence

Leweb3 - Ewan SpenceScottish freelancer/podcaster Ewan Spence is one of the most visible guests at LeWeb3. His traditional kilt and cardigan, as well as his Internet literacy, help him get interviews from the most important speakers of the two-day event. For him, it seems as easy as a mouse click.

“This is the third time I’ve attended this conference”, he told us in the Networking Dock Tuesday night. “I know Loic Le Meur and some other high-profile nerds who are present here in Paris. So my job is getting easier and easier.”

Tonight, Ewan goes back home with four interviews broadcast for the BBC. He also came to Paris to do some reporting for British Internet reviews. But he is mostly interested in testing some of the forthcoming most-dowloaded software -just like a little child who is given a new toy.
