My Wifi betrayed me

More than a thousand nerds are gathered here in the Docks to talk about the evolution of the Web. Words like “interactivity,” “speed,” “sharing” and “future” fall from people’s mouths in every conversation. Well… as far as I’m concerned, I’d like all this tech better only if it worked!

Since Tuesday, 8:30, connection problems succeed one to another, both in the Networking Dock and in the Plenary. “Wifi hazard”, some bloggers told me. We are not that accommodating, and some ‘killing computers’ pulsions come to us. When the connection is slow, you would rather say it does not work at all.

Be objective, sometimes bugs are no big deal. But this is an annoying paradox to us, especially if you consider that we would publish news live on the Web!

Hosts talked about a hundred Wifi terminals installed everywhere - 120,000 euros dedicated to the Internet connection. Is there someone here to test all that stuff?!
