Tired of hearing your friends talk about Myspace or Facebook? Want to yell at your so called friends that you want to be alone and that you’re fed up with receiving their invitations to join a”friendly” group? Welcome to the anti social web.
Anton Chekhov, the Russian author, used to say that “nothing unites more than hatred.” It’s a principle the German founders of Hatebook have tried to put into practice.
At first blush, it looks like the familiar Facebook: same design of the page. The only thing that is different is the color : blue for Facebook (as in kind and civilized); red for Hatebook (as in evil). Here, the motto is more like: “everyone loves to hate”. All is allowed: upload somebody’s lies or publish secrets; spread the latest gossip from your enemies and friends; join a hate clan to get rid off all annoying things around you.
It seems to be a mere mockery of the famous Facebook, but it really looks like a tribute to hatred. People insult each other and make it look like normal everyday beahaviour! Moreover, you can locate people you hate thanks to Google Maps.
If Hatebook’s not enough for you, and you want to go even further…

On the front page of Isolatr are some quotes: “people always used to approach me to try and talk about this or that. I wanted to punch them in the throat. Now they leave me the hell alone. Thanks isolatr!”. Heaven for anti social geeks. But unfortunatelly, this website is not real. Some say it should be!
Last but not least, if it’s not exactly solitude you’re after, but just a desperate urge to be liberated from your friendships and relationships visit snubster. It helps you notify a list of people that you don’t want to be friends with. Enter one person’s email address and he/she will receive a message to say that they are “dead to you”.
All these antisocial networking sites were created at first to go against the trend of social networks. But the idea is already being turned upside down, as some people are making social connections by browsing each other’s hate list!

French designer Philippe Starck has just finished speaking for more than 40 minutes… his topic? what social design is about. Here’s a sample of his metaphorical presentation of one of his collections of lamps dealing with war. His French accent and Jean-Claude-Van-Damme style make it all the more fascinating…
